Math 100/His 121 Dining Cooking Collaboration
This activity aims to use a cooking demo to help first-year students reflect on their food habits and behaviors and consider various health topics, learn about a healthy diet in and good eating habits in college, collaborate and socialize with their classmates in a more communal setting, and identify institutional resources on campus such as the Toro Pantry and Student Health Services.
Meet the Chef
Meet Chef Juan Villanueva, highly skilled and innovative culinary professional with over 14 years of experience in the food and beverage industry. The West Region Culinary Summit 2023 awardee, certification of culinary excellence, and named one of Aramark's Young Professionals 40 under 40.
Making it into the culinary field was never his plan. Villanueva's career took an unexpected turn when his uncle landed him a job at Olive Garden as a dish washer. Starting at the age of 17 as a dishwasher, he worked his way up through hard work and dedication, eventually becoming an Executive Chef. Juan has excelled in various roles across renowned establishments, gaining expertise in diverse cuisines, food presentation, and team leadership. With extensive experience in hospitality management, Juan specializes in strategic planning, cost control, staff development, and ensuring top-tier quality and safety standards. Currently with Aramark Collegiate Hospitality, he continues to deliver excellence through innovative dining programs and a commitment to guest satisfaction.
Juan has a love for creating and serving authentic flavors, with a passion for service that truly satisfies guests' desires.

To place an order, contact our catering office between 8:00 am - 4:00 pm at 310-243-3335 or dhcatering@csudh.edu. Whenever possible, all catering orders should be placed 14 business days prior to your event. While we make every effort to accompany last minute orders, we cannot guarantee your first choice selections can be fulfilled. Our catering office is located in the Loker Student Union - LSU 215.
